So You Want To Write A Cookbook? 

Whether you’ve dreamt of writing a cookbook or considering whether to extend your personal or business brand, cookbooks are a unique business in themselves.  Learn from experts what makes a successful book, how to become published, and how to ensure put together a successful team.

Moderated by Regan Fletcher Stephens, a Philadelphia–based journalist with 10 years of experience writing about food, drinks, travel, and culture. Panelists include:  Carrie Bachman, Carrie Bachman Public Relations; Peggy Paul Casella, author and recipe developer/tester; Joy Manning, author and editor; Lexy Bloom, senior editor at Penguin Random House Books.

Creating Work Culture

Like many in the service industry, hospitality businesses depend on  human capital to differentiate themselves from other competitors.  Creating a positive productive work environment is a critical part of our overall strategy.  Learn what it takes from human resource experts, recruitment specialists, training experts on how to create a positive work environment from attracting the right candidates to offering benefits and other ways to retain team members.

At some point in our career, we are responsible for negotiating a deal especially when it comes to financing or partnerships with landlords or other collaborators.  Hear from experts who can help guide how to tell your story and making sure you receive your fair share of the deal.

Moderated by Anjali Gupta of Pinwheel Provisions and former leadership and negotiations trainer for Harvard Business Journal. Panelists include funders and recently funded companies: Ellen Weber, Robin Hood Ventures; Sarela Herrada, SIMPLi pantry supplies; Jenny Goodman, Tilit; Ellen Rosenberg, Santander Cultivate Small Businesses.
